Prototypes/Research
To start with my final idea I decided to make a presentation board on A1. I found this an easier way of directly showing my ideas and its easier for me to see the interface and how it changes with each option.

Production of the final
As you can see there is a hand template which the user is able to see once they have opened a new file.
Once they click on the first icon on the left hand side (its called "finger designs") this page appears. You can see there are an array of designs available to the user to use as they choose.
If the user clicks on the finger designs they are able to resize them and rotate ready to place in the desired location.
If you click onto the second icon down. You are shown to the designs screen. Here there is a random selection of designs ready for the user to place onto their template.
The design can then be rotated/resized and placed.
When the user clicks on the third icon they are able to view the full hand template designs.
When you scroll over the hand you are able to see a closer look of the design at an enlarged level. This makes the selection process easier.
Flat user interface design
As you can see from the prototypes i made there is no real sophisticated, modern design elements. That is why I have looked into flat interface design. Flat interface design does not contain any 3 dimensional elements therefore it is all 2d. It uses thin lines, no excessive drop shadows or gradients.
I found the following annual report made by Flt Dsgn for a company called Mail chimp. The screengrabs alone show the vibrant colourschemes ad the 2d diagrams which look modern and sophisticated.

Janvas
Janvas is a web app for drawing vector graphics. Janvas 2D Application works into the web browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer 9+. Janvas make easy your design with: iPad, Galaxy, PlayBook and others Tablet PC. I decided to look into the visuals of this app in terms of buttons and placement.
As my software will not be for drawing lots of images, just for henna design there is no need to add elements of colour.

However the draw features need to exist for making the designs.

I like how the icons are along the sides however i feel as though maybe this interface can annoy long term users as there is no set background everything seems like an add on.

I have decided that the software is available for tablet and also laptop/computer screen. Because the screen needs to be big enough to draw designs.
